Fishes has an important role in the culinary art of Grado , it is used in different dishes in particular for the worldwide known boreto a la graisàna or boreto alla gradese, an old fish dish of regional fishes of the lagoon, served with asparagus of Fossalon (a city near Grado) and are not to forget the cuttlefishes and blue fishes. Grado is also known for beaches, fine-sanded beaches, this is a protected area in terms of environment Bandiera Blu’, for its beauty and the clearness of water. Also up to the beginning of the 19th century, the European aristocracy used to get there in order to bathe in the seaside thermal springs.
